Career Highlights: Named Honorable Mention All-America by The Associated Press as a senior. Also named to All-SEC First Team by AP. Finished up his career at Vanderbilt after spending his first two seasons at Virginia. Sat out the 2004-05 season under NCAA transfer rules.

Senior (2006-07): Started all 34 games for Vanderbilt. Averaged a career-high 17.0 point. Scored 20 or more points 11 times, including a career-high 32 points in a win over South Carolina. Had 17 points and five assists in Sweet 16 loss to Georgetown and scored 27 points in second-round win over Washington State in the NCAA Tournament. Recorded two double-doubles, including an 18-point, 12-rebound performance against Wake Forest.

Junior (2005-06): Started all 30 games for the Commodores, averaging 31.5 minutes. Ranked second in the SEC in three-point shooting percentage (.441), making 63-of-143 attempts. Finished second on the team in scoring at 12.4 ppg. Led the Commodores in assists (3.2 apg).

Sophomore (2003-04): Started 18 of 31 games, averaging 20.9 minutes. Averaged 7.5 points and 3.4 rebounds. Scored in double figures 11 times. Scored 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field, including a trio of three-pointers at Loyola Marymount. Recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds against Coastal Carolina.

Freshman (2002-03): Started 16 of 31 games, averaging 20.9 minutes. Averaged 6.5 points and 2.9 rebounds. Scored a season-high 20 points and swiped five steals coming off the bench in a 72-65 win over Gardner-Webb.

Strengths: Extremely versatile player at both ends of the floor. Combines solid athleticism with a nice feel for the game. Shoots a high percentage from the three-point line.

Personal: Son of Barbara and David Byars. Has fours siblings, including brothers David Byars (33), Darryle Byars (35) and sisters Desiree Anderson (34) and Bridget Byars (20). Majoring in sociology. Nickname is "Dee Bee.”
