Tulsa's Rally Falls Short in Reno

RENO, Nev., Dec. 28, 2010 – The Tulsa 66ers (8-6) rallied to cut a 17-point halftime deficit down to just three heading into the fourth quarter but saw the Reno Bighorns (9-4) hold on to win by a 98-91 final score Tuesday night inside the Reno Events Center.

The contest was Tulsa’s second of five straight road games.

Latavious Williams led the 66ers with 17 points on the night, while Ryan Reid and Larry Owens each chipped in 14. Also in double figures scoring for Tulsa was Tweety Carter with 13 and Elijah Millsap with 10.

Marcus Landry led six Bighorns in double figures with 19 points on the night. Patrick Ewing Jr. finished with 17 points, Aaron Miles recorded 13 and Jeremy Lin posted 10 in Reno’s second-straight victory.

The Bighorns led by 17 points, 62-45, at halftime. Tulsa rallied to within three, 75-72, heading into the final quarter by outscoring Reno by a 27-13 margin in the third quarter. The 13 points by Reno marked a season-low in a quarter by a Tulsa opponent this season.

The 66ers will continue their road trip on Thursday, Dec. 30, when they travel to Austin, Texas, to take on the Toros. Tip time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside Cedar Park Center.
