TULSA, Okla., August 26, 2010 -- The Tulsa 66ers have announced the scheduled dates for the team’s open tryouts for the upcoming 2010-11 NBA D-League season.

The tryouts will take place Oct. 9-10 inside the Tulsa Convention Center. Day one on Saturday the 9th begins with check-in at 8:15 a.m., followed by two sessions at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Only top performers will be invited to return for Sunday’s 10 a.m. session.

Individuals will be assessed through a variety of shooting drills, scrimmages and team drills. Prospects will be observed by Tulsa 66ers coaches and Oklahoma City Thunder basketball operations staff.

Last year’s open tryouts produced Oral Roberts’ Marcus Lewis, who helped guide the Tulsa 66ers to the 2010 D-League finals. The 6-8 forward started four games in the postseason, averaging 4.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Interested players should submit completed registration forms along with a $150 non-refundable participation fee by Oct. 6 to the Tulsa 66ers office located at 2727 E. 21st St. Suite 500, Tulsa, OK, 74114. A $175 fee will be assessed to those registering after the Oct. 6 deadline.

Those attending the tryouts may take advantage of a special $79 nightly rate at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Located in downtown Tulsa, the Crowne Plaza will also provide shuttling services to and from the Tulsa Convention Center.
