Fourth-seeded Tulsa and top-seeded Iowa have met three times this season, all in Tulsa. The 66ers posted a 2-1 record against the Energy, with their last win coming on Dec. 19 by a 109-104 margin.
The 66ers swept the Texas Legends in the opening round of the 2011 playoffs to advance. Tulsa posted a 94-83 win over Texas on April 6 before handing a 104-89 final decision to the Legends on April 8 to end the series.
Iowa advanced to the semifinals after defeating the seventh-seeded Utah Flash in the quarterfinals, two games to one, capped off by a 112-107 home win on Tuesday night.
The two squads will travel to Des Moines for Game Two on Monday, April 18, at 7 p.m. inside Wells Fargo Arena. The Energy will host an if-necessary Game Three on Tuesday, April 19., also at 7 p.m..
The two teams also met in last year’s semifinals of the playoffs, with Tulsa defeating Iowa in the best-of-three series to advance to the finals.
